WHAT IS KALA COTTON

Kala cotton is one of the few genetically pure cotton species remaining in India and one of the only pure old world cottons to be cultivated today on a large scale.

It is indigenous to India and by default organic as the farmers do not use any pesticides or synthetic fertilisers. It is a purely rain fed crop that has a high tolerance for both disease and pests. It is both resilient and resurgent in the face of stressful land conditions.

It is produced in India under fair working conditions.

The kala cotton denim is extremely soft and durable making it perfect for our bucket style sun hats.

 

Baby sun hats have a cotton outer and a cotton inner layer. 

  • main fabric: 100% kala cotton
  • lining fabric: 100% kala cotton 
  • self fabric ties 

SIZES :  BABY (43 - 48 cm approx)

              TODDLER (48 - 50.5 cm approx)

              CHILD (50.5 - 54.5 cm approx)

To take the measurement : Use a dressmaker's tape and measure around the head directly above the eyebrows and over the top of the ears.

 

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

  • cold/warm hand wash
  • do not use bleach or fabric softener
  • use phosphate free detergents
  • line dry in full shade and gently pull into shape
  • warm iron if necessary

Please Note : This item will be hand made to order, please allow a turnaround time of  2-3 weeks.  

All fabrics have been pre-washed and pre-shrunk before cutting. There may be some shrinkage however this should be minimal.
